. Culminating Activity/Research Project
You, as the student, will be responsible for creating a business plan. A good business plan will help ensure the success of any type of business. As a marketer, it is up to you to “sell” you business to a potential investor. All plans should be comprised of the sections detailed below:
I. Executive Summary
-- A brief introductory outline that highlights the key ideas of the business plan. **Investors should be able to read this “attention grabber” and understand the plan before getting into the specifics**.
II. Mission Statement
-- An outline of the business’; ; ; s purpose and the products and services it will offer. **Explain your business idea to the potential investor**
III. Industry Overview
-- An analysis of the industry and markets in which a business will compete, and the factors affecting the business **Demonstrate your knowledge of the industry. It is similar to a market overview, but it gives macro view, or the big picture or overview**
IV. Competitive Analysis
-- An analysis of the direct competitor’s market position and its strengths and weaknesses. **Here, is where you’ll plan how you carve out a place for your business in a competitive market**
V. Marketing Plan
A detailed outline including a market overview and an outline of the business’s market strategy. **Map out your marketing objectives and explain how you will position, price, distribute, and promote your business’s product or service**
VI. Organization Plan
An organizational plan that details the business’s key managerial roles and legal structure. **Explain the business structure**
VII. Operating Plan
An operational plan that details the business’s location, facilities, equipment, supplies and suppliers, and staffing requirements. **Here, you’ll define what is needed for the business to operate**
VIII. Financial Plan
An outline of the business’s profit and loss projections, cash flow, operating costs, funding needs, and how funds will be used to run the business. **Here, you’ll estimate how much money you’ll need to run the business, and how it will be spent**
IX. Appendices
Place any additional information that will help to prove the feasibility of the business plan. In this section, list the references in which you derived. Please make sure they are listed in APA format.
**THE ENTIRE PLAN SHOULD BE NO LESS THAN EIGHT (8) PAGES, NOT INCLUDING THE BIBLIOGRAPHY**
