Instruction
• The author’s thesis. Make sure you include what the author claims are the consequences on the individual, community, and the larger society that result from the phenomenon discussed in the article (two paragraphs).
• A few examples of the evidence, both anecdotal and empirical the author presents to support their thesis. (one - two paragraphs). A short discussion of whether the evidence is convincing.
• A detailed analysis of sociological method(s) the author employs in this study. Do you see any problems with generalizing the conclusions to the larger population? Do you believe the findings are valid? (Two paragraphs)
• Use your Sociological Imagination to explain the ways the article relates to personal experiences you've had in your own life. Clearly show how your experiences are related to ideas from the article. Use examples (two – three paragraphs).
• A detailed analysis of the issues in the article from a Conflict perspective, Functional, Symbolic Interaction, Labeling, and Freudian perspectives. Use specific examples from the article to substantiate your analysis. (two full pages).
• Discuss possible changes to public policy the author of this article might endorse (two good paragraphs).
The paper should be five full pages in length (with an additional cover page that contains the photo).
Use a 12 pt font, 1.5 spacing, and 1" margins. Use only Calabri or Times New Roman font.
