You will search for and find an empirical cognitive psychology article from a peer-reviewed journal. The article has to be a report of original research conducted by the authors. After reading the article make sure you understand it. If you can’t understand it, find another article. After understanding the article, think about how it might apply to the field of your choice (e.g.: education, criminal justice, politics, advertising, nursing, sociology, counseling, etc.). Write a paper in which you first describe the field you chose (for example: what is the field of education? What is its purpose? What kinds of things does someone working in that field do?) Then you summarize the article – what were the authors trying to discover? What did they do to discover it? What conclusions did they make? Finally, explain how the findings from the article are relevant to the field you chose – How might someone use the findings to do their job better? How might someone understand an element of their field better given the findings? How might the findings change the way things are done in the field? (4 pages)
