Based on your Community Organizing Paper, and through your own research, decide what issue the community where you live or work would have the best success organizing a campaign around. This is not from the case studies you already read and is meant to be a real life example. Your organizing campaign must be based on the strengths and capacities you have identified in the community through your role as a community organizer. Using the examples from your discussion posts and the applicable strategies you identified in your ‘Becoming a Community Organizer Paper’ describe what your organizing effort would look like and justify your choices based on the course readings and your own discoveries about the community. Discuss how you will be tapping into self-interest and clearly identify the strategies and tactics you are selecting to resolve the issue in your community. Your paper must include ONE of the following community organizing strategies: public service announcements press releases advisory board press conference a workshop a public hearing The final paper should describe the organizing effort to the fullest extent as well as include the above information as content. Make sure to connect your assessment results from ‘Becoming a Community Organizer’ to your organizing campaign. Discuss how this campaign contributes to advocacy efforts to enhance your community. Your paper should include sections on: Introduction, Description of Community, Needs and Strengths, Culture, Focus of Community Organization Project, Community Organizing Campaign, Possible Outcomes/Unintended Consequences, Limitations and Future Impact/Conclusion. All papers must be typed, double-spaced, using correct APA style and run between 10-12 pages in length (without references or a title paper). Abstracts are not needed and you mus have a minimum of 4 APA cited sources; these must be academic sources and not web addresses. You will need an intro and conclusion along with proper formatting. Please proofread.
