Part 1: Discussion:Be sure to clearly identify each assignment including your name. You may attach more than one file, but please try to minimize the number of attached files that have to be opened separately. After viewing the lecture materials (three PPTs and three PDFs), answer the following questions: How does the new information impact you? How will you use the new information? What value does this have for you? After reading the material on participant observation (p.57), attend a regularly scheduled group meeting in your daily work while consciously taking up the role of participant-observer. Write a post that reflects on your experience in this group and being a participant-observer. Be sure to incorporate the PO cycle into your reflection. How would you assess your areas of strength and where might you need to focus more? How can being mindful of the PO cycle impact your daily leadership efforts? Part 2: Assignment Why study group dynamics? What are the elements of a group that you believe are essential for a leadership practitioner to understand? What does a practitioner need to know, understand, or utilize in order to make sense of group behavior? Using the course materials presented in week one, write a 2-3 page paper that addresses these questions. Be sure to cite specific examples that link with the concepts and theories covered in week one.
