Project Summary: hi, I need respond to this discussion; The biggest problem with the mother-daughter relationship is that the mother wanted her daughter to be a prodigy. I feel like one problem was that Auntie Lindo's daughter was very good and chess and won a lot of competitions. Another problem that was mentioned was when the daughter said she wished she was dead like the others implying that her mother had other children at some point but they had never made it. That could be the biggest problem, since she had no one else to raise to be a prodigy. Her daughter wanted to be herself not what she was told to be. The significance of two kinds was that her mother believe there were two kinds of daughters, obedient ones and ones who follow their own mind, quite frankly the daughter was the opposite of what was wanted and followed her own mind. At the end the mother offered the piano and I feel as if that symbolized that dispite the disappointments her daughter had given her she really cared and believed her daughter could have been something. When her daughter sat down and played "Child Contended" she had realized that it was the second part of the song "Pleading Child". I need it in 10 hr
