Project Summary: READ CAREFULLY. 200 to 250 words only due in 2 hours. Money can be anything that is readily recognized by a society as having value in exchange. In human history, bags of salt, stones not necessarily precious or semi-precious, shells, cigarettes, and candy bars among other items have served as money. Money serves three functions simultaneously. It is a medium of exchange, a store of value, and a unit of account. As a medium of exchange it eliminates the double coincidence of wants required of barter exchange. As a store of value it can be used readily with the knowledge it has a given purchasing power. As a unit of account it is used to denominate and make compressible and hence accountable in the form of monetary valuations things such as a nations output into GDP, business inventories, business assets, business liabilities and a households wealth. However, the value of money is not constant so that its fitness at fulfilling its three functions varies. Describe in 200 to 300 words how changes in the value of money affect its fulfilling its functions and explain steps that can be taken to address these functional changes from an assumed viewpoint.
