All papers should have the thesis statement (argument) in bold face print when you submit them. One way you can write this paper is to construct an argument regarding one or two texts that we have read this semester. (In this case just this story) This assignment requires that you engage closely with the text using the literary devices we learn about in class to make a thought out and persuasive argument. For example, your goal might be to focus on the setting(s) or characterization in a particular text or texts to locate a pattern and form an argument regarding what that pattern tells us or implies to readers. Or, perhaps you will develop an argument based on the way that symbolism or personification operates in a text. You may use outside sources if they help to support your argument. Please see me if you are not sure what outside sources are acceptable (ie: no Wikipedia). This paper requires a works cited page.
