Project Summary: 02/17/2017 Amazon.com lists over 28,000 books on leadership and supervision. It seems that a new book is introduced on a weekly basis. This shows the tremendous need for information and guidance as the roles and needs of supervisors change. However, the essentials of supervision how to deal with conflict, conduct performance evaluations, and lead employees remain basically the same. We each have our own style understanding it and how to apply our style within our work environment is vital to supervisory and professional success. Think about the different roles of supervisors in organizations. These individuals are on the front-line of an organization. Think about whether supervisors are selected to excel in all of these roles. Write a paper analyzing the important supervisory challenges in the modern workplace, and assess whether the supervisor of the future will require even more skills than are required today. Evaluate how workplace supervision has changed over the past 20 years and whether supervisors are selected to meet these challenges. You may use an organization familiar to you as a source of examples if necessary. Support your paper with at least five (5) resources. In addition to these specified resources, other appropriate scholarly resources, including older articles, may be included. Length: 5-7 pages not including title and reference pages. Your paper should demonstrate thoughtful consideration of the ideas and concepts that are presented in the course and provide new thoughts and insights relating directly to this topic.
