Among the major points, ethically, have been the destruction of embryos to acquire stem cells. For purposes of discussion, please read Case 7C on pages 192-193. Discuss that case in light of questions 2 and 4 on page 204. 2. If unwanted embryos in fertility clinics are going to be destroyed anyway, why not harvest their stem cells and reap the potential benefits? 4. If we don't use these unwanted embryos from fertility clinics for research, how do we respond to those patients, now suffering from diseases, who might have benefitted from such research? It's important that you support your answers with facts from the chapter. I definitely want your conclusions, but I want to see how you reached them.
