Project Summary: Victim-Offender Reconciliation Programs (VORPs) mediate face-to-face encounters between victims and their attackers, designed to produce restitution agreements and, if possible, reconciliation. You are a victim of a violent crime. You are leaving the grocery store at 9:30 PM because you needed to pick up medicine for your sick child. You are in a hurry to get home and do not pay attention to your surroundings. As you approach your vehicle, a suspect pushes a gun into your back and demands your wallet. Even though you give the suspect your wallet, the suspect strikes you in the back of the head with the handgun. You fall to the ground and the suspect kicks you in the stomach, then flees the scene.
