Group therapy can provide a sounding board, can help clients build a wider support system, they can help clients relate to others and not feel so alone, and oftentimes they are cheaper than individual counseling sessions. But group counseling also poses some interesting dilemmas in rural communities. Discuss these challenges. How should these issues be addressed?...#2...According to Herlihy & Corey (2015), “In rural communities, counselors may have to play several roles. In comparison to their colleagues who practice in urban or suburban areas, they often find it more difficult to maintain clear boundaries and are frequently challenged in blending several professional and nonprofessional roles and functions.” Describe some of the challenges that exist in rural communities.
