Project Summary: (1page) Watch the following clip by CBS news that looks at how gender roles are changing in our society due to economic conditions: http://www.cbsnews.com/news/as-gender-roles-change-are-men-out-of-step/ The video cautions that young men in American society need to rethink the value that to be disengaged academically is considered manly. In your discussion post please tells us if you agree with this assessment of male college students today. Is a silent, strong type that doesn't believe in doing well academically more masculine? Also, think about the documentarys description of stay-at-home fathers, as well as on Lanes arguments that young men are justifying staying at home and having their wives support them. Based on the ways our economy is changing, do you see our society continuing to change to the point where more men will stay at home than women? Explain your answer. ----------------------------------------------- ****Rubric: I will award 20 points for your answer to the question on whether academics add or detract from masculinity and 20 points for the second question on stay-at-home dads (for a total 40 points or 4% of your grade).
