Project Summary: Current Human Rights Discussion Provide a brief comparison (similarities and differences) among human rights, social rights, and civil or political rights. For each, provide a brief description of an issue from the news that exemplifies each type of right. Note: Provide specific examples and cite your references. To prepare for this Discussion: Think about human rights and human rights violations in the news. Consider what are thought to be social rights and how they are similar to and different from human rights. Likewise, think about civil/political rights and how they are similar to and different from human rights and social rights. Finally, think about all of these rights together. In what ways are they alike and different? Locate a current event that you would consider to be an example of each of the types of issues.
