Instruction
• Make sure to fully address ALL aspects of each question and clearly convey your points. Your responses should be thorough and well-justified and reflect your ability to discuss/apply course concepts effectively
o Don’t rely too heavily on the text/readings – use them to JUSTIFY and SUPPORT your responses (not as the response itself – i.e., your responses should not be a series of quotes/references). If drawing from sources outside of your own brain, make sure to cite them appropriately.
o There are no length requirements for your responses - I’m concerned with quality, not quantity. (As a guideline, your response to each question will likely be a paragraph or two…if you’re writing more than one page responses for a question, you’re probably writing too much; conversely, if you’re only giving me a couple of sentences, you’re probably not writing enough to effectively answer the question).
o Your responses should also be precise and directly relevant to the question. Don’t give “everything but the kitchen sink” responses (i.e., don’t throw out a bunch of concepts, ideas, etc. in the hope that one of them hits the right points). I don’t want to dig around trying to deduce what you’re trying to say.
• Pay attention to writing style, spelling, etc. Make sure you convey your thoughts effectively.
a paragraph or two for each question will do, as long as you answered the question clearly.
• This test is (clearly) open book, open note, open access. However, if you utilize outside sources, please make sure to reference/cite/quote them appropriately. Copying or paraphrasing from other sources without proper acknowledgement is considered plagiarism.
