"What you're going to do: Browse news apps or newspaper articles and use them as inspiration to create a topic for your poetry anthology project."
Option A: Write two poems that discuss your chosen social issue (two poems)
Option B: Analyze and pick two poems that discuss your chosen social issue (two paragraphs)
Option C: Write one poem and pick and analyze one poem that discusses your chosen social issue (one poem and one paragraph)
Criteria for each poem you write:
1. Complex language is decipherable and the content in the poem expands on the chosen social issue, displaying an understanding of it
2. includes and highlights the use of three poetic devices, and all are used accurately
3. The poem has a clear tone and mood
4. The poem has a shift that serves the theme of the title.
Criteria for each paragraph you write:
1. Deep, clear, informative and insightful writing - writes an effective argument with flair and control; forms connections; and offers solid solutions
2. The poem relates to the argument; and, analyzes the poem's literary and or rhetorical devices in-depth to strengthen the argument
3. Excellent style and sophisticated language (formal voice; the paragraph flows through transitions; and incorporates proper quote integration). The paragraph is organized, focussed, and has detailed PPAs.
4. Despite its clarity and precision, this paper need not be error-free.
