The five different treatment groups are 1.Support groups, 2.Educational groups, 3. Growth groups, 4. Therapy groups, 5. Socialization groups .
1) Describe the 5 different types of treatment groups?
2) Have you used 1 or more types at your agency? If so, which type? What were some of your challenges as a facilitator or co-facilitator? If you just observed, what were some issues that arose in the group? What were some of the benefits?
3) Describe 5 important steps the social worker should engage in when planning an intervention group. Some important steps for social workers to engage in when planning an intervention group are Articulate the purpose of the group, identify a guiding theoretical framework, Articulate the roles of the leaders, select techniques &activities for the group, locate space for the group, and composition of the group. Explain the following planning intervention and give examples.
