1. What did Mao believe and how did this impact China?
Mao believed an individual was capable of overcoming conditions of objective and getting to achieve the goals by the absolute power of will or by voluntarism. This phenomenon is well elaborated in the traditional Chinese fable of the crazy old chap who was competent in moving the mountains. It led to tension between being an expert and being red. This belief has consequently expanded conflict during the great leap forward (American History, 2019). They also became particularly acute during the Cultural Revolution.
2. How did China’s economic policy change when Mao died?
The policies of Mao had dominated the development effort of china before he met his death. Since Mao died in 1976, new policy tests have been embraced to spike economic improvement. The open-door approach is among the policy experiments. This policy is of expanded economic and social cooperation with Europe, the U.S., and Japan, a takeoff from the system that had won for three decades of constraining China's investment in the world economy. Moreover, cultural interaction has expanded in Europe and Japan.
