For project number five we will be drawing a close up of an animal’s head using your graphite pencils and an eraser. I am providing a PDF of a variety of animals for you to use for your source image. Pick the one you like and I suggest you print it out in black and white to use as your source. Think about using directional lines and your eraser to simulate the softness of the fur. I want this drawing to be a full page in your sketchbook. Concentrate on the subtle tonal changes in the textures. Start your drawing by doing a light pencil sketch of the basic shapes to establish proportion and then slowly build up the greys and eventually the darker tones. You can take liberties with the image (artistic licence) and think about a focus which is more detailed with a bit more contrast and others less detailed, softer areas. Take your time with this drawing, it should take you at least a few hours. It will be worth 10%.
