1.Using one or two plays that we read and discussed this semester, analyze the importance of
setting. How essential is the setting to your chosen play? The following are brainstorming
questions to help you answer the bolded question and analyze the importance of setting to
your chosen play(s): What does the setting show? Are there any unifying elements or
aspects of those stories when it comes to the setting (symbols, characters that share similar
struggles, etc.)? Avoid mere plot summary.
2. Below are pivotal lines from the play. Analyze the importance of
that line. In other words, create an argument as to why the line you chose is important and
explain it in detail. What is the significance of the line/ those lines? The following is a
brainstorming question to help you answer the bolded question and analyze the importance
of the line: What does the line you chose say, show or prove? Avoid mere plot summary.
