Part 2:Module 5: Discussion 1 -- Communication and Behavior
This modules chapters (Chapter 4 Boutot and Chapter 7 Ganz) explore the considerations in selecting and designing a students augmentative communication system. We will investigate Functional Communication Training approach for decreasing behavior and increasing requests appropriately. The learner will understand how motivation, deprivation, satiation and aversive stimuli impact behavior. Rationales for functional behavior assessments will be addressed as will how antecedent conditions contribute to behavior.
