Instruction
Pick from the chapter "When employees turn Violent" 1-2 key points and make a presentation on it.
Focus on an area in Chapter 9, choose one or two specific points. For example, one or two areas that stand out to you? Develop the presentation around one of these areas. Don't take on the whole chapter or even half the chapter. Narrow it down to 1 or 2 key points.
Presentation grades will be based on ability to extract and organize ideas into powerful analytical categories, to apply critical thought and broader course themes, and on the value of the discussion questions for enhancing a conceptual understanding of the key issues. Students are encouraged to:
a) Choose a criminal and/or deviant behavior in the workplace to present to the class.
b) Draw on 1-2 key points in the reading, creatively present a description of your topic (e.g.,
using video to illustrate your topic, provide a case study or example of a criminal and/or
deviant behavior in the workplace and relate it to the assigned scheduled reading, etc.).
c) Create powerpoint slides and/or a 1 page handout summarizing your topic (mandatory).
d) Create a 3-5 minute video presentation (this is optional, it is not mandatory).
e) Critically analyze your topic with the class by facilitating class discussion by raising 1 clear
thought provoking question to stimulate class discussion (e.g., query some aspect of your topic that you agreed or disagreed, highlight an aspect of your topic that you find of interest and want to discuss/reflect upon further, highlight an aspect that you did not understand and wish to seek a richer understanding, etc.).
At the end of the presentation, have a slide with 2-3 class discussion questions for me to ask when presenting and to cause a discussion on this topic. Before last slide: Discussion question and Last slide: References
