1.Hi everyone I just want to start by saying that I want to one day be in the medical field. I love medicine and believe that CAM therapies are a form of medicine. It depends on the diagnosis for me to say what my views are on CAM therapies. Because if it is something extreme like high blood pressure and the patients need drug medication to stay healthy and alive but decide that acupuncture or a massage will make their blood pressure lower, instead of just taking prescribed medication I would not support that. Now if we have a patient who has been stressed because of a big project then definitely recommend CAM therapies over prescription medication like Lexapro or anything else. I practice whatever works best for me or the patient. I would like to start with CAM therapies if they are an option but if I do not see an improvement to my problem then I would use conventional medicine because my end goal to my health is to feel better. To me, it does not matter what type of medication treatment plan gets me there. Since I want to be in the medical field I try to read as many medical books as possible and have seen that CAM therapies are sometimes better than conventional medicine. Currently I do not need to use CAM therapies or any other kind of medicine. If the day comes where I have to decide between the two I would like to ideally go with CAM therapies but only if they have shown positive results to my health issue otherwise I would go with conventional medicine. In the end, my view is that if it helps me with my health issue I support it and will use it.
2.My view about CAM therapies are simple: if you notice that I works for you, then you are entitled to use them as much as you wish. If you notice that consuming ginseng improves your memory and physical performance, then you are allowed to continue to consume ginseng. Personally , I believe in some forms of CAM therapies but not others.
I also believe in Conventional Medicine because it has been proven to heal me when I''m sick. For example, when I got a stomach virus, I used a doctor prescribed medicine that made the virus go away. My experiences with conventional medicine and my family 's experience with alternative medicines.
I have used alternative medicines in the past and I will continue to use some of them in the future. Some forms of alternative medicine that I have used include: eating kimchi to help with digestion, using vicks vapor rub to open up the chest, and using a humidifier to help me with my breathing at night. I use CAM therapies and Conventional medicine day by day to keep me helthy.
3.My views about the CAM therapies is that it helps concentrate on relaxation and stressors. It reduces all the negativity outside of your body like anxiety and calming your emotions. My family and I use conventional medicine because we go to medical doctors, pharmacies, and hospitals. This information has shaped my views about conventional medicine because my family uses treatment from professional doctors. I would consider using alternative medicine because It works to understand to treat any type of disease, or pain that you are feeling in your body. It relies on natural medicine and its safer on the body. It's less of any risk than taking any man-made medicine that is unnatural. I've taken tea whenever my throat starts to irritate instead of taking any medication for throats. I would drink lemon with honey when I drink tea. It would kill infection and help my throat stop hurting.
