Situation 1 Ch 4 Customer Behavior and Strategic Planning (link to chapter below)
https://courses.lumenlearning.com/wm-retailmanagement/chapter/why-it-matters-identifying-and-understanding-customer-behavior/
Over the past few quarters, your store has been getting less and less traffic, which has in turn reduced sales. You’re beginning to be concerned that the marketing for your store has started alienating customers (or that a local competitor is doing a better job reaching your customers). However, you know that it will take a lot of time and research to discover the cause of this loss of traffic.
You have a one-on-one meeting with your supervisor in a few weeks, and you think if you make a good enough presentation, you can get the go ahead for this research project.
Your Task
Submit a 1.5-2 page paper, double-spaced, 1" margins, using Times New Roman Font. You do not need a header, simply include your first and last name, date and class (BA118) on the top of the first page. Your paper should address the following:
Discuss the impact demographics, psychographics, geographic, and behavioristics have on customer behavior in your store, as well as the influence your target customer’s behavior has on a sustainable competitive market strategy. Make reasonable assumptions about your store environment. Discuss how you would use this information to increase store traffic and sales.
Use the textbook and other sources and reference them when used, but remember that the paper should be in your own original thoughts and wording.
Assignment 2: Ch.9 - Financial Strategies in Retail (link to chapter below)
https://courses.lumenlearning.com/wm-retailmanagement/chapter/why-it-matters-financial-strategies-in-retail/
Instructions: Write a few sentences to address each question below.
1. Choose one of the key financial statements discussed in Ch.9 of our textbook. Provide a brief explanation of that financial statement in your own words. Do an internet search for the financial statement, and describe one new thing you learned.
2. Real world question. Assume Domino’s Pizza is considering offering a new product—a 6-inch pizza. Why would it matter if Domino’s Pizza knows how much it costs to produce and deliver this 6-inch pizza?
3. Real world question. Why is it becoming more important that the managers of hospitals understand their product costs? How would you explain this to a staff that has not yet had to understand and manage costs?

Situation 3 Ch 15: Customer Service Strategies (link to chapter below)
https://courses.lumenlearning.com/wm-retailmanagement/chapter/why-it-matters-customer-service-strategies/
Your store is working through some challenges in managing customer expectations. Although it is not your store's intent, customers typically are expecting more than can be realistically provided in terms of the reality of products, product delivery, and customer service.
Your Task
Submit a 1.5-2 page paper, double-spaced, 1" margins, using Times New Roman Font. You do not need a header, simply include your first and last name, date and class (BA118) on the top of the first page. Your paper should address the following:
Discuss your approach and strategy to close the gap between customer expectations and the reality of products, product delivery, and/or customer service. Use either a real or imaginary business scenario to help illustrate the approach and strategy, and make reasonable assumptions. Explain why you would use this approach and strategy, and how it would benefit the store and the customer.
Use the textbook and other sources and reference them when used, but remember that the paper should be in your own original thoughts and wording.
