Instruction
What I would like you to do is to take something you learned in this class, some lesson or some information that I have taught you and I would like you to apply it to something in the real world. A lot of times learning about cells and neurons and what a certain part of the brain does is interesting and maybe a bit fun, but you don’t really apply it to the real world. Well, I happen to think that a lot of examples I give and a lot of lessons I am teaching can have applications in the real world.
This can be a personal experience: Pick a story involving you that links your personal experience to one of the topics that we cover in class. Be sure you are able to tie it in to what we study: The story does not have to be about something that happened to you, it could also be something that happened to a friend/family member that you witnessed. You could think of a movie and apply it to something we covered in class.
What is expected for the format of the paper?
1 1/2-2 pages, DOUBLE SPACED, in 12-point font (times new roman) (2 pages MAX)
Proper grammar and spelling (you have SPELLCHECK, so don’t be afraid to use it)
Reference to your topic from the book (Garrett, PAGE #) OR (www.google.com/psychology) for example (copy and paste the web address)
I would just like to have you tell me about something you’ve learned and how you have or can apply it to the real world. And since we are all internet savvy people, perhaps using google to look something up in order to help your paper out would be good, just don’t quote an article or paper or website directly unless you use quotation marks. And I would like you to cite the reference.
