This week is a reading week for you to complete the The Book of the Unnamed Midwife. As you finish the novel, look at current events as well including the climate crisis we find ourselves in and rollbacks across the globe of women's rights. Tasks: 1. Begin to contemplate everyday language and how it reifies gender inequality, stereotypes and patriarchal relations of power (e.g., whore, slut, pussy, dog, he cried like a a 'girl',etc.) 2. Assignment 2 is due Saturday by 10 pm. 3. Continue the discussion board posts throughout the week discussing the novel you were assigned to read this week without giving any spoiler alerts or endings. In addition, see task one as discussion post topics for this week.
