The importance/significance of studying the problem: What is the broader scope/ relevance of the problem to be studies in terms of knowledge, theory, research and policy. What are the benefits that you envisage from undertaking the research.? (100-150 words)
The purpose of the research: The above two elements will help summarize the argument in undertaking the research. The arguments must be clear and concise. This indeed will lead to the powerful statement of the purpose of the thesis research. The purpose of the research is to succinctly illustrate the main goal (aim) and intended specific objectives. This is a very important part of your introduction paragraph of your research. This will provide the readers a road map to what you are intended to research. This is the theses statement which should be communicated in one single sentence (the main purpose of the research is to......) . This should be concise, disputable/refutable and coherent. Organize the ideas in logical manner to persuade the readers. (100-150 words).
Title of the research problem: Make it simple and clear. You may want to call it as working title. Once you complete the research, you can then revise it according to the flow of the rest of the paper.
