1. Provide Canadian examples on the different instruments of Trade Policy (Pager 205 - 212) and fully discuss how these instruments are being used: Are they being used as Political Arguments for Intervention (e.g. Protecting Jobs, and/or National Security, and/or retaliation, and/or Protecting Consumers, and/or Furthering Foreign Policy Objectives and/or Protecting human rights)? Are they being used as Economic Arguments for Intervention (The Infant Industry Argument and/or Strategy Trade Policy)? or both?
Consider the country your group has chosen for the final project, provide examples, and discuss the different trade instruments it has implemented on its economic system. (Costo Rico)
2. What are the economic and political arguments for regional integration? Given these arguments why don't we see more integration in the world economy? Go to Global Edge scroll to "Get global edge Insights Research by.... and to Trade Bloc. Choose and describe one of the Trade Bloc and refer if they align with the economic and political arguments of regional integration. Identify what level of economic integration they are. (NAFTA cannot be used as its being discussed on question 3. )
3. What do you think about the new agreement USMCA (NAFTA 2.0)? Was it a win-win-win like Prime Minister Trudeau suggests? Should we have walked away? What do we really stand to lose and/or gain, and is it worth it? Analyze from Political, Legal and Economic Perspective. What is it consider a Free Trade on the level of economic integration?
