Instruction
Write a 5 page, double-spaced, one-inch margins. Choose a political cartoon that depicts an issue(s) of racism. You will analyze it by describing what the artist's multifold illustration about racism and other connected ideas. Your essay should be divided into at least three sections: (1) dissect and interpret all the details of the political cartoon (what is the narrative?), (2) discuss with a critical analysis using concepts learned this semester from any of the readings (discussed or not), and (3) what impact does it have on public views. Is there social change intent, resistance, affect provoking, etc. and explain. You can structure your paper as you like as long as it is well-organized, clear and articulate, and demonstrates deep thinking about the graphic elements and messages embedded in the cartoon. Be sure to include the cartoon and reference list in additional pages.
