A lens in optics is a transparent or translucent covering that allows in certain rays of light in certain ways in order to concentrate on a particular image or part of an image. Think about how a lens can be used metaphorically to describe a process of analysis. With a specific critical lens in place you’ll be able to understand some material more clearly. In this section of the course we’ve been looking at the ways several folklorists have worked to comprehend the cultural meanings of urban legends and other bits of contemporary folklore. For this assignment you’re going to bring together two of the texts that we read for this section of the course, analyze how the authors develop the lens that they use to understand the material, then use that analysis to develop your own lens for reading bits of contemporary folklore ultimately arguing for why that method makes the most sense.

    aggrey | Oct 13, 2020, 15:54 PM
  • okay, and we'll use this same thread throughout it all?
    User_17951 | Oct 13, 2020, 15:56 PM
  • If you want us to use this thread, you can post a separate assignment of $120 which you'll release the funds at the end of the month. Then the next post next month and so on. but we keep this thread for all the communication for this class.

Look at how Eaton ingratiates himself into a paranormal investigation team and think about what you might do to be able to engage a group that you are unfamiliar with. Are there any limitations to behaviors you might be comfortable observing? Are there any groups that you wouldn't feel comfortable observing? What would you do to gain the information you might need? 150-200 words

We can use this thread for the entire class. but next month you just set up a post at the end of the month and release the funds. But it was a kind request you release the funds on this post before the end of the month so I can receive the funds. We shall continue using this post even after releasing the funds.
