For this week’s discussion, the dispute that I will select is a situation whereby a woman is passed over for a promotion and instead the job is given to a man with less experience. This is what is referred to as sexual discrimination in the workplace. Sexual discrimination entails unfair treatment due to sex differences. Women have been discriminated historically in their workplaces when compared to men even though they perform tasks better than men sometimes.
The best way to solve this dispute is by filing a lawsuit. According to Title VII of the 1964 Civil Rights Act, employees are always protected against discrimination. Discrimination against employees’ terms of hiring, promotion and firing based on sex is clearly illegal. The technique in which the woman was denied the promotion was justified since all employees should be equally treated and not discriminated against based on gender. Consequently, for justice to triumph, it was effective for the woman to file a lawsuit.
