Instruction
: Choose one of these eight pathway-related scenarios, and write an essay in which you compare and/or contrast (i.e., pointing out similarities and/or differences). Then make a collaborative recommendation, taking into consideration personal experiences and audience needs. Also, incorporate at least one quotation in your essay from an outside source, making sure to cite the source properly within your writing as well as in a work cited page at the end of your essay.
• AHCD: Compare and/or contrast two movies to recommend to a work colleague for a date
• Business: Compare and/or contrast two restaurants to recommend to your boss for a business dinner
• Education: Compare and/or contrast, as an educator, two schools or educational programs to recommend to a couple for the specific needs of their child
• Health Sciences: Compare and/or contrast two doctor’s offices to recommend to a family member for a consultation visit
• IMCT: Compare and/or contrast two cars to recommend to a client for their career field
• Public Safety: Compare and/or contrast two true crime/law enforcement programs to recommend to a friend for a realistic and enjoyable binge
• SBSHS: Compare and/or contrast two vacation destinations to recommend to family for a family vacation
• STEM: Compare and/or contrast two homes to recommend to a newlywed couple on a budget for their first home
-Note: When writing a comparison/contrast essay, it’s easy to write an inadequate thesis that merely notes that the two things have similarities, differences, or both. Instead, your thesis must make a specific argument (i.e., express a specific opinion) about the two things you are comparing. In other words, explain why these two items are worth comparing and contrasting. Does the comparison/contrast show that the restaurants/vacation destinations/homes are both equal in quality? Or does the comparison/contrast perhaps display the benefits or shortcomings of one of the restaurants/vacation destinations/homes?
MUST BE written in THIRD PERSON
