With the use of an example, explain an imperfectly-competitive industry or sector -Provide a real-world example. Cut and paste real-world facts and data. As support to what you write provide references with hyperlinks to your sources. -I do not want any generic ideas ("the cement industry has large regulatory barriers because it is hard to get environmental permits" is a generic idea) -These sources should be real world examples from a newspaper or other original source. I do NOT want academic papers or excerpts from textbooks or economics sites as sources -No classic textbook examples like the diamond industry or the market for eyewear -Describe the barrier(s) to entry in your own words -Describe the industry and the companies who participate. Who are they? How do they compete? Explain how the barriers might have affected market structure and what market structure exists because of the barrier -With diagrams, show the output decisions for companies in this industry -Finally examine whether these barrier(s) can be or are being attacked and conquered by companies who want to win customers and make profits by either breaking these barriers and/or by “moving the goalposts” and providing a new way for consumers to get the product or service they want. Also note: -File types - I have made this a file submission rather than a text box submission. Therefore create the document, insert the pictures into that file and then make the file either a doc, docx or PDF. -For the supporting evidence copy and paste relevant information from your research. Put it in italics. At the end of the assignment put the url for the source of this evidence -URLs/hyperlinks. Make sure they work and are not behind a subscription firewall. If I can't open them you will not get the marks -Make sure I can easily see your key referenced material when I go to the URL. If the hyperlink is to a 25-page document and the relevant material is on pages 7, 14 and 20 for example, your assignment needs to say that. Do not expect me to go looking for the material.
