Instruction
1. A 350kg “demolition derby” automobile traveling at 30km / h collides directly with a 500kg truck which was traveling in the opposite direction at 40km / h. The two vehicles remain stuck together. Determine the speed of the two vehicles following the collision. 2. A 4.0 kg cart moving with a speed of 5 m / s (East) collides with another 2 kg cart moving with a speed of 4 m / s (West). If the collision is elastic, what is the speed of each cart after the collision? 3. A 1.2 kg grenade is lying on the level ground. Suddenly, it explodes into three pieces. The first piece, of 0.5 kg, flies up at a speed of 3.0 m / s towards the north. The second piece, of 0.3 kg, flies with a speed of 4 m / s in the direction (South 450 East). What is the vector speed of the third piece? 4. A small car collides with a moose. Explain, using a drawing, the consequences of this collision, using your knowledge of physics.
