Instruction
I'm providing a link to the podcast "Very Presidential" which looks at the history of our American presidents. https://www.parcast.com/verypresidential Each episode is between 30-45 minutes, and is entertaining and easy to listen to. you can listen to any of the follwoing episodes (I know there are other episodes, but these are the only ones I'm approving since they overlap with our time period of study): Episode 6, "Thomas Jefferson: The Hypocrite" Episode 7, "Andrew Jackson: The Firebrand" Episode 9, "John Tyler: The President Without a Party" Episode 12, "Andrew Johnson: The Drunken Demagogue" Episode 14, "Ulysses S. Grant: The Butcher on the Battlefield... The Mouse in the House" Episode 15, "George Washington: (Almost) Our First Zombie President" After you listen to the episode, you will write a 1/2 page to 1 page response (double spaced) addressing the following: 1. Share something that surprised you or interested you. Was there something you learned that you never read in a history book? 2. What connections could you make between the podcast episode and material we covered in class? Was there something the podcast covered that you would have liked to learn more about in class? 3. What was your opinion of the podcast? Did you enjoy listening? Is this an effective way to learn about history? Why or why not? You're welcome to do this for more than one episode -Professor
