Instruction
Process recordings are used to help students develop their social work practice and self-assessment skills. Students should follow the specified process recording format and come to seminar prepared to offer constructive feedback to their peers. Both the process recording format and feedback form can be found in the “assignments” section of our D2L site.
Students should identify the practice skills they are using with clients and describe how they make use of the planned-change process, the interactional method, and strengths perspective when working with clients. The process recording should be used to reflect on the student’s practice, not on the client. For example, consider whether the client’s needs are being met by your practice skills and identify areas of practice you need to work on in order to be more effective. Time will be allotted to review work on an individual basis with the professor. Please remember to use pseudonyms for your client(s) and agency and have your process recording signed by your field instructor prior to submission.
