Purpose: Focus on a contemporary debate like the people who refuse to raise masks despite the overwhelming scientific evidence that wearing a mask can save lives. How would your ideas about communication help us solve this problem? I suspect that it will be far easier to find good research on this topic and so it will be far easier to write a successful essay. You can begin by defining the problem. How many people in the U.S. refuse to wear masks? What is the impact of this behavior? What is the economic impact? Once you have defined the problem in detail, factually, you can consider solutions. How would your ideas about communication help resolve this problem? Also, keep your reads in mind. If you are only writing to people that agree with you, it’s “singing to the choir,” which is an empty exercise. Your task is to persuade your readers that effective communication is the best solution to this problem.
