Instructionbut should be someone with whom you are relatively comfortable or with whom you are willing to engage in a dialogue about any of the topics we’ve discussed this semester. Then proceed to generate a list of interview questions and establish a time and place for the in-person interview. Do not interrupt a speaker, but listen thoughtfully and carefully. Students often like to record these interviews to best summarize their learning later. Ideally these papers will combine their responses (give them voice!), your reflections (let me hear how you feel about what they said), ideas/references (use our sources!) 15 – 30 open-ended (questions one could not answer with a yes/no or a one-word answer. Ie “how” or “in what way” or “tell me”). Question list (DO NOT SUBMIT ANSWERS) is to be typed and submitted with your paper and are a graded portion of the assignment. Questions should reflect depth, breadth, and thoughtfulness (an attempt to really learn and make meaning) about a variety of topics in communication and gender. Include name of subject and relationship with them in your paper. A 5-7 (and beyond) page essay summarizing your learning and your experience as it relates to course materials. Citing the text and reader (no other sources needed) and class discussion to connect what you’ve learned to class.
