You can do the writing assay on any of the topics you find of interest. It is up to you RELATED TO IMMUNITY, TREATMENTS, CELLULAR AND MOLECULAR MECHANISMS OF ACTION OF COVID-19.
I want you to do a research on the topic you find interesting. If you do not feel intrigued by the COVIF-19 you can choose another topic. But the important thing is that you present the science behind it (the mechanism that is behind it). Do not only repeat what they said in the pods cat or what you google. I want you to have different sources where you find the information.
If you do not have any particular topic you may find something that you may be interested in the radio or online.
Here there are some ideas:
Go to the radiolab web page:
http://www.radiolab.org
Select one of the podcast you are interested in RELATED TO BIOLOGY. I give you here some suggestions:
Blame, blood, inheritance, colors, double blasted, famous tumors.
First listen to the whole podcast. They use to include under the same topic few ideas, experiments or questions.
Focus on only one of the questions. Then put your own title to it, describe it or summarize it. Try to find the researcher that discover or first described what they are mentioning in the podcast, note that they may mention different research in the same podcast and that they sometime doesn’t specify the name of the researcher.
Then, you will have to do a research about this topic. Not only repeat what they said, but also do research and give your scientific opinion.
They are based on actual research articles. You will have to find information about it on the internet.
If you prefer to do the writing assay using TED talks that is also fine with me. This is the link.
http://www.ted.com
You will find different talks here. There is an interesting one to me “Exploring the brain of a killer”. For the TED talks, as the format is different you will have to include a description of the speaker who is normally a scientist (they usually have their own laboratory and you can check on their research lines).
I hope you like this writing assay. If you need help, let me know. If you want to do your writing assay about other topic or research, please contact me and we can figure out.
Below, the are some talks that you can choose in order to do your research:
Related to sarin gas (they are talking a lot about politics but not as much about the science mechanisms so you can find information in other places, but not here or only here)
