MCH Job Poster
Your MCH career poster is a one-page document summarizing your selected MCH career/job – essentially a flyer or advertisement. Its purpose is to provide a high-level overview of the career. It should be eye-catching and easy to read. Be creative, as long as it looks professional!
At a minimum, your MCH career poster should include:
• The title of the job position
• The name of the organization (setting) in which the position is located. You can choose a real
organization, or create one for the purpose of this poster. Examples of organizational settings are
state or local health departments, community-based organizations, clinics, schools, etc.
• A brief description of the key responsibilities for the position (i.e., what does this person do?).
• A brief summary statement (just 1-2 sentences) about how this position supports the broader
goals/ mission of the organization in which it is located
• Qualifications for the position – minimum required and additional preferred qualifications (i.e.,
what education, credentials, skills, and prior experience are required for this position)?
• Salary range
• also include other relevant information about the job, based on your research.
The posting is one-page maximum – one side of an 8 1/2” x 11” paper. The font must be easily readable. It should be written in your own words – do not just cut and paste from another source. You do not need to provide citations or references on the poster, but the information must match the detail and accompanying citations in your final paper.
3. Final Reflection Paper
Format: Papers should be typed, double-spaced, 12-size font with 1” margins all around. Write in a professional style in complete sentences using standard English spelling, grammar, capitalization, and punctuation. The total paper should be 900-1000 words, excluding references. I will deduct points for papers that are > 10% over or under this word limit.
References: Use a variety of different types of information sources to learn about your selected MCH job. You must have a minimum of three references for your paper. Potential sources may include:
• Articles from peer-reviewed journal articles or credible news sources
• Published reports from government or professional organizations
• Websites from government or professional organizations
• Interviews with a person working in the field/job
• Other relevant sources you may identify specific to your assigned job.
You must cite all sources used for your paper, including in-text citations and a complete references list at the end, using APA citation format. Any idea or statement that is not your own original thinking needs a citation, even if you have summarized it in your own words.
Content: Organize your paper in four sections, separated by headings corresponding to each part below. Sections 1-3 should be approximately the same length, reflecting equal importance and attention to each section. Section 4 may be shorter than the other three.

• Now that you have researched and reflected on this career, is this a path you plan to pursue? Why
or why not?
