InstructionGeneral instructions: Responses must be double-spaced, use 12-point font (preferably Times New Roman), and have 1-inch margins. APA in-text citations should be used (no reference page needed unless you add a resource outside of those provided in the module) Word count is a MINIMUM of 750 words. Include the word count at the end of your submission. Only portions of the response that are substantively related to the question will count towards the minimum word requirement. Avoid a lengthy introduction/rephrasing the question (this is not a term paper – get to the point) or the use of rhetorical questions to pad your response. You MUST answer all the questions in the prompt. Although the majority of these are asking for your opinion, you will be expected to support your opinion with your readings, lecture notes, and evidence. These are designed to be critical thinking activities, not regurgitation of class material. Grading will be based on the student’s ability to 1) identify and explain the issue(s); 2) evaluate empirical evidence and conclusions; and 3) support one’s opinion. Prompt #1 - Use of Force The module readings outlined the known and unknown areas regarding to overall picture of what use of force looks like. Discuss some of the problem areas regarding public perceptions and media portrayals of use-of-force in comparison to research. Do you think these perceptions match up with the data? Why or why not? In other words, critique public perceptions of force as well as the research. Explain this in detail using the readings and external sources to support your opinion. What improvements can be made to ensure perceptions and research are an accurate reflection of the issue?
