Instruction
Using excel, design a distillation column simulator that operates with a total condenser with reflux, as well as a reboiler for the binary acetone-water separation. Your submission must be both an excel simulator and word explanations on how the simulator works as you change some variables for optimization. State all assumptions & choices made and indicate the necessary justifications.

  • Hello. I asked my prof earlier if we’re allowed to change the feed temperature on our optimization. I just received a response and she says that we are free to change the feed T too or leave it constant. We just need to state our assumptions on the simulator. In short, please feel free to vary feed temperature if you find it necessary to do so. Thanks.

  • Good afternoon. I am still not able to see the complete excel file. It shows some values as N/A and it does not show the determination of of the equilibrium stages. Also the word document attached is not the proper one. It is showing some social statistics assignment. Please check and update me. Thanks

  • I saw the Word Doc. I looks good. Thank you so much. The Excel file though is still blocking some values the same way like the attachment. Lets look into it daytime (Monday). I still have a few days to add my part and submit. Otherwise, I will now release the funds and mark as complete, but please keep in touch with the updated excel file that will allow me to open the files.

  • Hallo. Just updating. I still couldn’t open up those excel values that see to be locked. They show ‘#N/A’ or ‘#’. I tried different computers and it wouldn’t open. Can you please update the settings & then try to open on a different computer & let me know. Thanks
