Read Chapter 8 of your textbook. The Process of Memory In your own words, explain the process by which information progresses from sensory memory to short term memory and then on to long term memory. Be sure to include how long a memory lasts a particular stage, and what happens after that length of time has passed; also, include how much information (chunks) can be held at each stage at one time. Then, in a separate paragraph for each of the following, provide a specific example of each in your paper: Sensory Memory Short Term Memory Long Term Memory Your submission should be at least 250 words in length. Proper formatting is important and will be a part of your grade. When you go into this assignment, select "Write Submission" and then either place your work in the box provided or attach a Microsoft Word Document and then select "Submit."

  • Hi, looking over this, it seems as if you misunderstood the instructions. From the way I'm interpreting the instructions, the first paragraph should explain the complete process of memory from the sensory stage; where the brain collects raw, random information from all senses during our normal day's activities lasting anywhere from 1/2 second to 3 seconds(be sure to include how many chunks of information can be stored), then to short term memory; where information is stored a little longer, approximately 20-30 secs and possibly longer with repetition or depending on how much attention we give to a particular piece of information; holds approximately 5-7 chunks of information, then to long term memory that has no limit to memory storage or chunks. The 3 individual paragraphs are where you give your examples of each memory stage. Please do a little more research and make these adjustments for me. Please and thank you.
