InstructionIn this activity, you will write a prospectus to propose a topic for the Causal Analysis paper. A prospectus is a preliminary description of the topic and a plan for conducting research for a project. Writing and Submission Requirements Length: 1 page minimum, 2 page maximum Format: 12-pt Times New Roman or 11-pt Calibri font, double spaced, 1” margins, name and date, paginated, doc/.docx/.rtf file type Task In detail, describe the subculture which will be the focus of your causal analysis paper. Consider dividing your description into parts or categories of information. For example, you might organize your description this way: How the people talk or communicate Where they live or do what they do What they do for work, entertainment, problem-solving, etc. Note: The smaller the subculture (i.e., the scope of your research), the more likely you'll see the details more clearly and then arrive at an answer to your research question. So, I recommend narrowing your subculture to as small a scope as possible. Following your description, propose a question (in a single sentence) that leads to a causal analysis, such as "Why do skateboarders do X?" or "Why are young adults drawn to the hipster lifestyle?" Finally, explain how you will gather information to answer your question. Use headings for the three parts of your prospectus. Here are some generic headings that you can use, but you can also choose to tailor them more specifically to your paper and topic: Subculture Description Research Question Method of Gathering Evidence Your grade on this individual activity will be based on the success of your prospectus to address all of the components listed above for each of the 3 parts. Refer to the grading rubric for further details about content, organization, and evidence and support.
