InstructionYou are required to write a 600-650 word reading reflection paper as follows: 1) First section (400-450 words): In the first section of the reflection for each reading or chapter assigned please summarize the main points. I suggest first doing all the readings for the week and underlining key sections and/or making notes on the margins. Then go back and review all your underlinings and notes to pull out the most essential points for the summary. If there is more than one reading/chapter then the length of the paragraphs should roughly correspond to the length of the reading/chapter. This “summary” part of the reflection is not the place to discuss your critiques or reactions but just to put the main arguments in your own words. The ability to concisely summarize reading materials is a key skill that will serve you well in life. 2) Second section (200-250 words): React to the readings you have just summarized. Specifically, pick some part(s) of the reading that you found particularly interesting, important, or problematic, and discuss it in further depth drawing on your own life experiences and values. In this part of your paper you can also agree or disagree with the readings, but in either case make sure you provide the clear reasons behind your reactions. Be clear about whether you are disagreeing with empirical claims, or making claims based on your values. Please include a total word count at the top of the paper. • write using clear and complete sentences • exhibit careful reading and effort to understand the materials • effectively summarize the main points of the readings • grapple with the materials and how such materials may apply to your own life or your community • meet the required word counts
