InstructionAs a behavioral health professional, many of your clients will present with substance use problems. Therefore, it is important to become familiar with addiction-related support groups in your area. Support groups like Alcoholics Anonymous (AA) and Narcotics Anonymous (NA) are among the most widely utilized substance use support groups nationwide. For this assignment, you will personally attend one of these meetings in your local area. Most meetings are typically open to the public, but there are some that are closed, so make sure you plan accordingly. Please note that support groups for addictions other than substance related ones (e.g., sex addiction, gambling addiction) are not appropriate for this assignment. After you attend the meeting, you will write and submit a paper to this Canvas page based on your experiences. The paper should be at least 4 full pages in length but should not exceed 5 pages. Required format of the paper is as follows. Each section should have its own subheading: Name and Brief History of National Organization (introduce what it is: AA, NA, Al-Anon, Nar-Anon; how long has it been around; important individuals and milestones in its development; future goals, etc.) [1 page in length; worth 15 points] How the Meetings Are Run/Organized (what is the “leader’s” role; what are expectations of the attendees; how does the group recognize success stories; what do they do for relapses, etc.) [1 page in length; worth 15 points] Personal Observations of the Meetings (what you saw; what was interesting; observations of the group members [no names]; particular stories that caught my attention, etc.) [1 page in length; worth 15 points] Conclusion (what I learned; is it a good model of support; what surprised me most; what are your feelings about what you observed; how could I use what I learned in my work/practice in the future, etc.) [1 page in length; worth 15 points]
