InstructionAfter reading the assigned texts by Aristotle, and the Professor's Notes on Aristotle, please respond to only one of the prompts listed below. Make sure your answer is well-written, respects good grammar, and is thoughtful. Also, make sure it is well-elaborated, yet concise and to the point. You must quote one of the assigned texts for this discussion as part of your answer. Aim at writing an answer that is between 200 and 300 words (not including the quote). Remember: Come back and reply to two of your colleagues’ initial contributions. As with all of our discussions during this course, you are also required to answer the post of at least two of the other students. Your replies must also be thoughtful, well-written, and engaged. Simply writing “I agree” or “I agree”, will not count as a reply to a colleague. The aim is to have a conversation. Always remember to be polite; keep in mind the Netiquette guidelines. Please indicate to which question you are replying, by including the question number and some words related to the question. For example, you can change the subject line to read “RE: 1. Justice and Aristotle” or “#2 Justice as fairness”: Briefly explain the difference between justice as moral virtue (as lawful) and justice as fairness. Mention one positive feature of Aristotle’s concept of justice as fairness, and one negative (or disadvantageous) feature of it. (An example might help illustrate.) What seems to be the impact of Aristotle’s notion of justice as fairness over the political system adopted by a city? (In other words, how do different interpretations of fairness or equality, according to Aristotle, help shape the preference for a specific political system?) How does the idea of merit grounded on Aristotle’s notion of justice as fairness help shape or determine political participation in a city? You are required to post your answer to one of these prompts by March 4, 11:50 pm. Your post is worth 4 points. You are required to reply to two of your classmates by March 5, 11:50 pm. Your two replies are worth 0.5 points each. Total: 5 points. You can find the Discussion Rubric here: Discussion Rubric.pdf Note: Posts after the due date will incur a 2.5 point deduction for tardiness. After March 11 this discussion will be closed for participation. Grading Information
