InstructionFor this project, you will be creating a contextual picture Jane Austen's novel Persuasion. In this timeline you should include information on major historical events from 1775 to 1837, Jane Austen's biographical information, and writing and publication information for Jane Austen's novels, including (but not limited to) Persuasion. Use Microsoft Excel (or other spreadsheet) to create a table for your timeline. Organize the columns of your timeline with the following headings. I have included an example of a timeline below to model your timeline after. Column 1: Dates — year(s) are sufficient, but you may also provide specific month/day(s) if you wish Column 2: Historical events — Choose the major events between 1775-1837. Note: Austen is an English writer, so most of your information should be centered on events in English history; however, some events in France and the American colonies have direct impact on English history and Austen's life. Include in this any important literary innovations or movements. Column 3: Biographical events (excluding writing and publication information, which you will list in column 4). You may also include events in the lives of Austen's family that are significant. Column 3: Writing and Publication History— Provide information on the writing, revision and publication of Austen's six (6) published novels. You may also include any unfinished work. Note: Entries in your timeline should be brief; you do not have to use full sentences. You may have events in only one column for any given date. You can and should use any contextual information provided in course PowerPoints, lectures and in your copy of Persuasion. You can and should also use the internet to search for information and timelines for the historical, biographical and publication information. Requirements You should upload your completed Literary & Historical Timeline Project in Canvas using the assignment link. No paper print outs of your Timeline will be accepted as a result of COVID-19 concerns. All assignments must be turned in by the specified due date and time. All late assignments will receive a 10% penalty. No assignments will be accepted later than 10 days from the due date. Style Guide: Your timeline should be a least 2 pages in length, 12pt type, 1” margins A Works Cited page with a citation for any online sources you consult and the novel is required.
