  • I think the journal format, was a really raw way of telling a story. We were able to get the events from Charley's point of view, and see his progress, and retrogression in Charley's own words. The story would have changed if it was told through one of the other characters point of view, because we'd be able to see the physical changes, but not watch Charley develop emotionally. We saw how he felt. Reading the story in this format through Charley's point of view also gave the story the strong emotion. We watched Charley feel excited and hopeful, get smarter and develop, and then also lose all of the progress he made. I think that's why this format, was so powerful. That is something we would have not gotten as much of, if Mrs. Kinnian or or the doctor had told the story.(Another example of how I want the answer to look like)
