InstructionNote that the Excel homework spreadsheet for each week will likely contain multiple tabs. You should ensure that you view each tab thoroughly in order to see all questions and problems. Answers to problems requiring solutions should show the problem with the solution, clearly showing how you derived your response, and then, finally, your answer. Highlight answer(s) to questions or problems to insure that the instructor or T/A is able to clearly distinguish which problem you are working on, your answer, and your solution or method of obtaining your answer. Excel formulas used to solve problems constitute documenting your work. When using Excel formulas, there is no need to type out formulas to show your work since Excel is self-documenting. The standard rule of best practice is to not key numbers into an Excel Workbook that can be referenced or calculated. Remember to highlight your answers to make them easy to pick out of a page of calculations. Homework will be graded based upon accuracy, completeness, and work shown. Partial credit may be awarded if work is shown. As explained above, using Excel formulas self-documents your work, alleviating the need to further explain how answers were derived.
